New York, New York, Do You Love Ebikes or Hate Them?

Filled with confusion amid conflicting reports, I recently went to NYC to see just what was happening there with ebikes. My hotel was in Chelsea, and on arrival one of the first things I noticed on the cab ride to the hotel was that nearly every intersection had an ebike rider. Usually wearing a traffic safety vest, and clearly delivering food.

Finding Distribution in the USA

The world has many makers of electric bikes, motor scooters, scooters, and motorcycles, as well as the components and of course, larger vehicles. These companies may be in Europe, India, China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Israel, Russia, or elsewhere. They often look at the USA market, and believe that it is very large, quite affluent, and feel that they must find a way to sell into the USA. 'Fast' E-Bikes: Pushing Legal Limits

“Fast ebikes” or “speed pedelecs” or “illegal ebikes” are a topic of conversation as the market for electric bikes in the USA grows. The key message here is that electric bikes can comply with the law, even the ones that are faster than the federal definition. And it is not hard to comply.
